It was a great night of food, and a little karaoke by Dishcrawl’s CEO Tracy Lee. That pretty much sums up the night we had to close out January. We all met up at Myth Taverna & Lounge on the clear Tuesday night, where crawlers mingled at the bar and were introduced, by Victoria, to the Greek-style food the restaurant served.
A nice selection of pita with greek style spreadsm, spanakopita pinwheels(spinach and feta pastries), baby keftethes (greek style meatballs), grilled vegetables, grilled souvlaki, marinated chicken skewers, marinated olives with feta and tomatoes awaited everyone as they filed in line for the buffet.
After a great start to the night, it was time to head on to Peking House, which was a direct shot a few blocks away. Here, the owners, James and Linda, graciously brought us in to their restaurant, where we sat at long tables as some enjoyed Chinese wine, and everyone had green beans in garlic sauce, eggplant in chef’s sauce, and fried chicken wings.
This night was especially exciting here because the restaurant offered an extensive selection of American, Chinese, and Spanish songs for people to try. The owners were very good, as Linda said she enjoys karaoke very much. She sang a song from each language, and then it was Tracy’s turn. As most of you know, Tracy is the founder of Dishcrawl, so it was great to have the lucky few in attendance get to see her belt some lyrics to a few songs.
As we headed on a high note to our next stop, Little Chef Counter, everyone was eagerly awaiting what the owners, Steven and Robert, had in store to munch on. We were introduced to the little shop in San Pedro Square Market, then escorted to a larger dining area. There, Robert described the short rib fritters, mango glazed shrimp, and duck crustini as “oohs” and “aahs” rang throughout.
Having finished that grand meal meant it was desert time for the group, and we walked across the street to Treatbot’s food truck. Treatbot will also be opening a location in San Pedro Square Market, so it was fitting that the truck was within eyesight of the building. Brandon greeted us enthusiastically as the dishcrawlers cheered merrily. He described the coconut w/ pineapple, black marble raspberry ice cream, and tin roof sundae, we would be enjoying. The black marble raspberry I had was deliciously creamy, and I thoroughly relished it no matter how chilly it was at the end of the night.
Hopefully, everyone comes out to another Dishcrawl sometime soon because who knows, you may get to see Tracy entertain the masses for an encore. Have a great day, and until next time, come look at what Dishcrawl has in store in the Bay Area another time at: http://dishcrawl.com/bayarea/
